If you’re ready to make a self-storage enquiry or booking with us here at Now Storage, chances are you’ll speak to Rob, our sales adviser. He’s taken time out of his busy schedule to share more about how he can help you, along with answering self-storage FAQs.

  1. How long have you worked at Now Storage?

I joined Now Storage in November 2020.

  1. What’s your job role?

I’m a sales adviser so I predominantly look after customers making enquiries and bookings. Questions or queries? I’m on hand to help!

  1. What do you like most about your work?

I enjoy speaking with different people each day. A high number of our customers are moving house which can be a very stressful time, so I enjoy being able to take some of that stress away by providing them with an easy storage solution. Being able to help is extremely rewarding.

  1. What type of items can you store in the storage units?

A wide variety of items from furniture to other personal belongings through to sports equipment and work equipment. Our units are typically booked to store household or business equipment.

  1. Are there any items you can’t store in the units?

Common sense stuff really! So no hazardous chemicals, flammable goods, fuel, weapons or explosives. If you have anything you’re not sure about then please check with us.

  1. How do you get a quote for storage?

You can phone us on 0800 0787 110 or visit our website.

  1. How do you book a unit?

To book a unit either call us on 0800 0787 110 or you can book online.

  1. Do your customers have to provide their own insurance?

No, we provide insurance which starts at just £3 per week for up to £2,500 worth of cover. We can provide higher levels of insurance too. Just ask us for prices when you call or again, these are all on the website.

  1. Do your customers have to provide a padlock for the unit?

No, we’ll provide a very robust, heavy duty padlock specifically designed to work with our units. Each padlock has a key which is chipped and can’t be copied to ensure your contents are stored as safely and securely as possible. This is included in the price you pay.

  1. Are the units insulated?

The units are ply-lined on the floor and ventilated and raised up on wooden plinths to allow good air circulation, which is especially important when storing items for long periods of time. We treat the underside ceiling with a foam spray to draw moisture out of the air. This means your belongings will come out of your unit(s) in the same condition they went it.

  1. What security is there at the site?

Each site is surrounded by secure perimeter fencing. We have 24 hour CCTV surveillance and recording on site. Access is via a secure gate using a unique access code which you type into the keypad to open the gate. So you can rest assured that your belongings are in safe hands.

  1. When can I access my unit?

Access is 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, apart from Reading where access is available 7am to 7pm.

  1. How much is the deposit if I want to book?

We don’t charge a deposit to book for up to four weeks in advance. You only start paying from the actual day you take the unit up.

  1. How do I pay for my unit?

Payment is made four-weekly in advance by Direct Debit.

  1. What’s the minimum and maximum storage term?

The minimum storage term is four weeks, after which it’s just a week’s notice to vacate at any point. There’s no maximum term and, in fact, we have several customers who’ve had storage units with us for several years!

  1. If you had to give any advice to our customers what would you say?

As soon as you’re thinking about using self-storage, contact us so that we can help find the right solution for your needs and to ensure we can reserve a unit ready for when you need it – don’t leave it until the last minute!
